Invoicing and getting paid

We are not
in the middle.

Most platforms put themselves between you and your money, take a slice of every swipe, and hold the deposit for a few days on the way through. You connect the Square account you already have. We take nothing, and deposits never pass through us.

No contracts. Ever. Month to month, cancel yourself in the app. No card to start, no demo call, no salesperson.

Your merchant account

Your rate is the rate.

You connect your own Square

The account you already take payments on. Whatever rate you negotiated is what you pay. ServiceBuilt adds no markup and never becomes the merchant of record on your sales.

Money lands in your bank

From Square, on your existing Square schedule — next business day, free, for cards run before 8pm ET. We are not in the settlement path, so there is nothing for us to delay.

Tap to Pay on iPhone

A tap or contactless card on the phone already in the technician’s pocket, through the Square Point of Sale app on that same phone. No dongle, no hardware order, nothing to lose out of a truck. The technician needs the free Square app installed.

Text a link for everyone else

For customers who are not home or need to ask a spouse. The invoice goes by text, they pay on their phone, and the job closes itself.

The office side

What happens after the money moves.

AR report

Who owes what and for how long, so the follow-up is a list rather than a feeling.

Unpaid invoices

Its own report, because "we invoiced it" and "we got paid" are different questions and shops routinely confuse them.

Batch invoicing and accounting

The Accounting section handles invoices in bulk rather than one screen at a time.

QuickBooks export

Invoices export to QuickBooks Online, with tax codes synced and an import history so you can see what went across.

Straight answers

Do you take a percentage of my credit card sales? And the rest.

Do you take a percentage of my credit card sales?

No. You connect your own Square account and pay whatever rate you have with Square. We add nothing, take no percentage of card volume, and never become the merchant of record. Deposits go from Square to your bank without passing through us.

Do my technicians need a card reader?

No. Tap to Pay on iPhone runs through the Square Point of Sale app on the phone they already carry, so there is no dongle to buy and nothing to lose out of a truck. They need the free Square app installed on that phone; after that the money lands in your Square account like any other sale and the invoice closes itself back in ServiceBuilt.

How fast do I get the money?

On your existing Square schedule, because it is your Square account — next business day and free for cards run before 8pm ET, with Square’s instant and same-day options available at their rates. Nothing about that changes because you started using us.

Can customers pay without the technician being there?

Yes. The invoice goes out as a pay-by-text link and they pay on their own phone, which is how most of the "I need to ask my wife" jobs actually close.

Does it work with QuickBooks?

Invoices export to QuickBooks Online, tax codes sync, and there is an import history so you can see exactly what crossed over and when.

Thirty days. No contract. Your data moved for you.

We migrate your history free on either plan, and we do the moving. If it is not better than what you have, you have lost nothing but a month.
