Riley, the AI phone agent

Every missed call
is a job somebody else got.

Not a lead. A job. The homeowner with water on the floor calls down the local pack until a human answers, and the fourth ring is where your marketing budget goes to die. Riley answers, finds out what is wrong and where, and puts it on the board.

No contracts. Ever. Month to month, cancel yourself in the app. No card to start, no demo call, no salesperson.

What she actually does

Answers, qualifies, books.

Picks up when nobody can

After-hours mode covers the nights and weekends; always-on mode covers the days the office is buried. Both are settings, not a rebuild.

Gets what the job needs

Name, callback number, service address and what is actually wrong — the four things without which a message is not a job.

Books onto the same board

The appointment lands in the same dispatch board your daytime calls land in. No inbox to transcribe in the morning.

Hands off to a person when she should

If the line is struggling or the caller needs a human, the call transfers rather than apologising in a loop — and if nobody picks up, the caller gets a text so the lead survives the call.

The recording

Every call, not just the forwarded ones.

Recording used to hang off the forwarding step, which meant calls the agent handled herself were never recorded at all. It is now recorded at the call level, so every path is covered.

Recorded, transcribed, summarised

The Calls screen carries the audio, the transcript and a summary, so a disputed conversation is a thirty-second check.

Announced, if you want it

A configurable notice at the start of the call — the wording is yours — for the two-party-consent states and for peace of mind.

Tied to the customer

Calls attach to the customer record, so the history is in one place rather than in a phone system nobody logs into.

And to the marketing source

Calls are tracked to where they came from, so the ROI report knows which advertising produced the booked job.

Straight answers

Is the AI receptionist an add-on I pay extra for? And the rest.

Is the AI receptionist an add-on I pay extra for?

No. It is included in Powerhouse at $448 a month with unlimited technicians. Most platforms that offer an AI answering product at all sell it as a per-minute or monthly add-on on top of the subscription.

Can it actually book a job, or just take a message?

Book. She takes the name, callback number, service address and the problem, and puts the appointment on the same dispatch board your daytime calls go on. A message you transcribe in the morning is not what this is.

Do I have to use it?

No. It has an off mode, an after-hours mode and an always-on mode, and plenty of shops run it only for nights and weekends. Nothing else in the product depends on it.

Are the calls recorded?

Yes, all of them — at the call level, so it covers the ones Riley handles herself, the ones transferred to a person and the voicemails. There is a configurable spoken notice at the start of the call if you want callers told, and the wording is yours.

What happens if the AI cannot handle the call?

It transfers to a person. If nobody picks up, the caller gets a text so the lead does not die with the call — which is the whole reason the feature exists.
